Due to severe erosion and lack of work needed at Chapin Beach, the MBBA conservation project scheduled for Saturday April 27, 2013 has been canceled. The MBBA will not be allowed to stay in the Chapin beach parking lot Friday night. We hope the upcoming spring and summer months provide optimal winds and tides needed to begin the healing process on Chapin Beach. Hopefully, the MBBA will be able to schedule a conservation project at Chapin Beach next spring.
The MBBA will be conducting a 2-day conservation project on Sandy Neck Beach. Members are welcome to arrive in the Sandy Neck lower parking lot on Friday April 26, 2013 after 3 P.M. The Saturday portion of the project will consist of snow fencing and beach cleanup across the public beach area only. Vehicles without a current Sandy Neck permit will not be asked to drive out on the beach. (Cleanup will take place across the public beach area only on Saturday). The Sunday portion of the project will consist of a full cleanup of the over-sand vehicle accessible beach areas. At this time, all over-sand vehicles that wish to drive out on the beach, and are participating in the Sunday project, may do so.
I apologize in advance for the last minute change of plans.
I hope to see everyone this weekend.
Thank you,
Scott Morris President, MBBA
