The Orleans Board of Selectman will be meeting on Tuesday, March 4th 2014 to review the final draft of a Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP), designed for the South End of Nauset Beach, Orleans. The meeting will start at 6:30PM at the Orleans Town Hall located at 19 School Street, Orleans.
The creation of the HCP has been a work in progress for several weeks. The time has come for the Orleans Selectman to review the document and if approved, submit the plan to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for formal review. This process can take up to 3-4 months, therefore, a very aggressive timeline has been adhered to in order to get us to this point. I once again ask those of you that may be able to attend the meeting on the 4th to please do so. Our fellow MBBA members and friends have showed tremendous support thus far and I would like to see this continue.
As always, I appreciate your time and consideration.
For Fair and Reasonable Beach Access,
Scott Morris MBBA Executive Vice President MBBA Nauset Beach Representative

This is rather last minute, however, the Orleans Citizens Forum will be a hosting a discussion of Beach Access and Plover Nesting tomorrow (5/6/14) at the Nauset Regional Middle School auditorium in Orleans at 6:30PM. I have been asked to participate as one of the guest speakers along with representatives of the Beach Access Coalition, Outer Beach Coalition, US Fish and Wildlife Service and MAWildlife Natural Heritage Program. I hope to be able to answer some questions and share some information with the residents of Orleans and others in attendance. I believe this event is open to the general public. If you happen to be in the area, stop by.
