Ugh.. The tides are really pushing in, hopefully they will leave some sand behind!
Thanks to everyone that participated in this weekends conservation project, not great weather, but what a great group of people.

RACE POINT BEACH REPORT 6/30/14
There is a nest (you can see the exclosure from the access trail) which is south of Old Harbor and is scheduled to hatch on the 17th and will close Race Point South and move the SCV's into the Visitors Center Lot, This of course is if the predators or weather doesn't take out the nest before that point. There are also terns in the area but so far we are skirting them, if they move south (which is unlikely) that could also close the beach sooner (like the 11th)....

Peter,
I understand High Head is open to SCV access. Do you have a report on the conditions of the hill??

High Head is open but not as a SCV area The only SCV area right now is Visitors center lower lot.

August 7th The beach is still closed to SCV's, the birds could fledge at anytime now, my money is still on the 14th but I sincerely hope I am wrong.

Conservation project Saturday September 13 at Race Point (North) I'm hoping you can join us for this important beach cleanup. Project starts at 9:30AM beach vehicles without a Race Point sticker must check in at the oversand office to get a pass for the project, (I will also have passes after oversand closes.). The third tier parking lot is also available for non-beach campers staying overnight. Lunch will be once again provided by Bill & Angela Correia, Jim Conboy, Curt Annis and all of their helpers. I understand that people have been saving up wood for Saturday nights fire, which is always a crowd pleaser. If you have any questions you can call me anytime.
