It WAS an awesome Spring Meet and, obviously, WENDY and ALL the Officers did a fantastic job with the planning and pulling it off. Too bad they can't hit the mark with the weather;) Really, it was a blast! (The dancing under the tent brings out a guy I don't know in Curt . . . Did any of you witness Meatloaf's "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights?" duo with Scott Morris? . . . "SHOUT" with Good Peter ??) A FUN, FUN, time. All in all, I'm looking forward to next year and have some new "ideas" and will be willing to help. Here's to the beginning of summer '09 and a great season!

Went with my daughter and we had a great time, although we had to leave early because of Sunday work. Wished I had the chance to stay for the dance and singing and to see the wild and crazy side of our normally "proper yankee" members...
Had a chance to talk to a lot of members I have met over the years. The best conversation Domi and I had was with former President George Cully. Every one, especially the newer and younger members , should take the time to learn the history and culture of the MBBA from guys like George, and Cliff White.
Wendy, your crew did a great job; especially the Beauty Contest won by the Mary Poppins of Plum Island.
For access, forever.

Spring Meet was a blast and the weather (at least until Sunday) was wonderful!!! Wendy and the Officers did a great job....thank you, thank you, thank you. Brad was great with the microphone too, very easy to understand.
The "Miss MBBA" contest will go down in history, that was too much fun and my sides STILL hurt from laughing.
I hope everyone has a wonderful summer, we'll meet up with many of you again at Horseneck in the Fall.

Sorry Nancy, busy week, working and getting ready to go to the beach.
It was a good Spring Meet, good people, good food, good dance, good casting contests and awards, most of all it was FUN, I think people forget that part, but it was a fun time and once again I can't wait till next year!
Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to make it work, of course Wendy had been working at it for months (and it showed), but thanks also to everyone else, when it comes to putting up tents, moving barrels, setting up the casting field or whatever needed to get done there was always great people ready to jump in and help. I was totally impressed at the ease and skill shown taking it all apart on Sunday, what a great group, thanks to everyone.
And thanks to Brad for being MC and keeping the thing going, keeping us on schedule and providing comic relief, good job.
And I can't forget the promotional people, it's a ton of work to setup and run the tables and they make it look easy and work so professionally, very impressive, great job.
Thanks to the PERFECT 10's for making all of the conservation projects.
And to everyone else thanks for being good friends and good members, I'm proud to be part of the MBBA
See you on the sand, tight lines forever.
Peter

Hey, play nice. At least some people have big enough fish eggs to put their name on the posts.

I agree, frankly I'm sick of all the finger pointing and complaining about losing members, be it hot dogs, convoys, old timers or now lack of message board excitement, get over yourselves, the main reason we lose members is beach closures and resource/habitat management that strangle what beach is left, when some miracle happens and someone comes up with workable solutions to those issues we will have miles of beach and tons of new members, until then we will continue to see more and more people quit, and I don't mean just the club, but the sport entirely.
Gail is right, play nice!

I was totally shocked to say the least. I haven't seen Rick do anything like that since his 'drinkin' days. Those ladies made him do things I haven't seen in years. My sides hurt from laughing. He was happy to do it though. He was extremely pleased to see Gail laugh so hard. Good sports all of them!
