Scott Morris's father, David Morris passed away this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with Scott and his family during these difficult times. I will update all of you when arrangements are available. Bill

DAVID A. MORRIS, 62
NEW BEDFORD — David A. Morris, age 62, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. David was the beloved husband of 40 years and best friend of Deborah A. Morris. David was the loving father of Scott David Morris and his wife Michelle of Harwich, Jessica Pacheco and her husband Barry of New Bedford, and Ashley Morris and her fiancé Jason Fredette of New Bedford. David was the loving grandfather of Peyton and Paige Morris and Adyson Pacheco. David was the brother of Nancy Duval and her husband Ronald of New Bedford. David was the son in law to Raymond and the late Lillian Perry. David was the uncle of Gregory Sylvia and Danielle Moreira and great uncle to Carter Sylvia. David is also survived by several cousins. Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Agnes (Sylvia) and Antone Morris, he lived in New Bedford all his life. David served in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War Veteran. David worked at Goodyear Mfg., Chamberlain Mfg., the Standard Times and Massachusetts Department of Correction. David loved spending time with his grandchildren and Gizmo. He enjoyed fishing around the Elizabeth Islands and relaxing with family and friends on his sportfishing boat, "Peyton's Place." David enjoyed countless days with family on Nauset Beach and is a member of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association. Some of David's other pastimes included playing the accordion, electric keyboard and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
David's Celebration of life with his ashes present will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. Religious Service will be celebrated during visiting hours. Relatives and friends are invited. Arrangements are by the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his memory to Southcoast Center for Cancer Care or Southcoast Hospice Visiting Nurse Association.

From North; Rt140 south to end at Rt 6 lights. Go through Rt 6 lights to next lights at Hawthorne Street. Take left onto Hawthorne Street to next lights at Rockdale Avenue. Take right onto Rockdale Avenue to next lights at Allen Street. Take left on Allen Street, travel to 2nd stop sign.......... Travel past this stop sign, to 4th street on right, Ward Street. Take right onto Ward Street, go through stop sign, take 10:00 right onto Hickory street. Funeral Home rear parking lot is on your left.
