Opal Townsend (always known as Kay) June 24-1927- January 10, 2013 Born in Passadumkeag ME, the third of eight children. Married to John R Townsend in 1947 Leaves: two brothers, two sons, 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and 3 step great grandchildren. She loved the beach and spent most summers on Race Point when the kids were growing up. She set a world’s record for the largest striped bass ever caught by a woman, only to be beaten by one lb by a very close friend, Rosa Webb. She enjoyed playing bridge and attained her “Life Master” status. Kay loved her home that was built in 1767 and was always on the lookout for original antiques to put in it. She struggled for several years with alzheimers.
