Rob, Right on and well stated! I stopped buying a Sandy Neck pass when the birds were given most of the beach to lay a few eggs. I am sure I was not alone! Yes it is and was a weak protest. It surley is time for some average citizens to become politically organized to fight for what is being lost bit by bit in our country. MBBA Does just that! You are right, we all need to start acting like patriots! Limiting access to members only is not going to help any organization grow.
Thanks for allowing me to post my thoughts, Joe

To start, I'd like to commend all those that have organized in years past and sucessfully lobbied to keep the beaches open for all to enjoy. Thank you.
My family and I started going Race Point approx. 8 years ago, and essentially fall into the "Day Tripper" category of users. We have three children ranging in age from 8 to 3. Each of them has spent time there since they were infants, and some of our most cherished family memories took place there.
Now that the kids are a little older, I'm enjoying having a little bit of time to start learning the in's and out's of surf fishing the beaches, with my 8 yr. old right by my side.
Someone made a comment earlier in this thread along the lines of "what if we enlisted the Day Tripper's...". I think they hit the nail on the head. Let's face it, I think over 90% of those using the beach, whether fishing or not, are here because they love those beaches for one reason or another.
The way I see it, if it's aired down and on the sand, it's still a beach buggy whether it's carrying rod's and tackle or diapers and wipes.
I'm sure there will be plenty that disagree with the comment above, and I'm alright with that. But for me, I truly believe that what matters here the most is that we all treat each other and the beaches we drive on, with the same level of courtesy and respect that we'd expect be extended towards ourselves'.
So while we're currently 5% Fisherman / 95% Day Tripper, I'll be sending in my application and membership dues to the MBBA today.
And with a little luck, I'll have all three kids and hopefully someday grandchildren, right by my side for many years to come as we work towards 95% Fisherman / 5% Day Tripper...
Thanks again to all those who've fought hard to keep the beaches open, and we look forward to joining the ranks of the MBBA.
John (Day Tripper / Wannabe Fisherman)

John, Day Trippers have been and alway's will be a large part of this organization. Do we need even more of them in our ranks? YES we do. This is and has alway's been a beach access club, not a camping club. In any event, thank you for your way of thinking, we need more folks like yourself.

John - welcome aboard! There are many day trippers in this club. Some go both ways also. This club was founded By daytrippers and early " campers". If you get a chance watch the old videos of our founding fatheres at past spring meets. Welcome aboard and try and make a few of our monthly meetings.
By the way, if you are on the sand and see a MBBA member just stop and say hello, it is a great way to get fishing tips!

I'm not big on stickers on my "beach buggy" (which is also my wok truck) so my MBBA sticker is behind tinted glass, is there a MBBA flag I could fly on my antenna? I'd replace my Red Sox flag! I'd love to see how many day trippers are members! The more exposure we have the more potential members we are exposed too! The larger our membership is the louder our voice!

1785, there used to be small triangular antenna flags available through the promotional committee.

It's quite possible they are not available now. They change it up from year to year. Best bet would be to inquire via e-mail. I had one but it was quite a few years ago.

John (Day Tripper / Wannabe Fisherman) Bumpy & Don: Thanks for the welcome aboard. Turns out that a little yellow & black is exactly what the back of the truck was missing all these years!! Thanks again to all who have kept the beaches open over the years, and I look forward to helping out going forward. John

The promo committee is currently trying to find out where to purchase the antenna flags. They were purchased years ago by other members and we don't know who the vendor was. But we hope to have some in the near future.
